Summerlin Homes for Sale in Las Vegas, NV

Summerlin is a master-planned community on the west side of the Las Vegas Valley, near the Spring Mountains and Red Rock Canyon. It is developed by Howard Hughes Holdings, and its first homes, park and school were finished in 1990. I live in Summerlin myself, so I know these neighborhoods day to day, not just from listings.

A little history

In 1952, Howard Hughes bought a large piece of land on the western edge of the valley. Summerlin is named after Jean Amelia Summerlin, his grandmother on his father's side.

Las Vegas or Clark County?

Summerlin is not its own city. Most of it is inside the City of Las Vegas. Summerlin South is in unincorporated Clark County. It is good to know which side a home is on before you buy.

Villages, parks and trails

Summerlin is made up of many smaller neighborhoods called villages. Summerlin's developer says it has more than 300 parks and over 200 miles of trails. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area sits just to the west, so hiking and mountain views are close by.

Downtown Summerlin

Downtown Summerlin opened in 2014. It is the main shopping area, with stores, restaurants and places to have fun, all in one place.

Schools

Public schools in Summerlin are part of the Clark County School District. School zones can change from year to year, and some Summerlin homes are zoned for schools just outside the community. Check any address with the district's Zoning Search at ccsd.net/zoning before you buy.
